The art of hand dyeing threads and yarn for embroidery, weaving and free form stitch on your art quilt projects and favourite traditional quilts is a passion and I would love to share a full day of dye play with YOU!
A STITCHERS APPROACH: “Dyeing Your Own Threads”
Create your own custom hand dyed threads at the Tett Centre! In this one-day workshop, artist and art educator Bethany Garner will introduce you to the art and joy of designing and dyeing your own colourful threads.
Bethany loves using her own hand dyed threads in her art quilts and traditional embroidery stitches on cloth. Whether you love embroidery, Kantha, layered textural effects, or making marks across the surface of a quilt using hand stitch, the threads will be an important addition to your Stitcher’s TOOL BOX of skills. Take the next step, enhance your creative journey, and produce your own signature palette of colourful threads!
You simply need to bring your favourite skeins of (white) embroidery floss, pearl cotton or crochet threads in various sizes. Hand dyed threads are the perfect addition to your yarn and thread stash, and are easy to incorporate into scarves, quilts, home décor and more! COME PLAY!
