Bethany Garner art travels in Exhibitions in 2014 and 2015

Just Water Under The Bridge, Bethany Garner

I am so pleased that my piece above was chosen to travel with the THREADWORKS 2013 Exhibition "WATER" , a joint collaboration between the CONNECTIONS Fibre Artists Group and the Ontario Network of Needleworkers.

Threadworks is a juried exhibition that is mounted every three years and travels across Ontario to many museums and galleries. Of the 170+ pieces of work received this year (2013), 60 were chosen for circulation around Ontario for the next three years. The schedule of exhibition throughout Ontario for 2014 is as follows:

Dryden and District Museum - - - January 4,  - February 22, 2014
Lake of the Woods Museum, Kenora - - - March 9 - April 27, 2014

Thunder Bay Museum - - - May 11 - June 29
Museum of Northern History, Kirkland Lake - - - July 12 - August 30
Arthur Child Heritage Museum, Gananoque - - - September 12 - October 31
(this lovely small museum is within a close drive of Kingston, Brockville and Ottawa. Hope you will make plans to visit the exhibition while close by.)

A small piece of my art, above, has just arrived in Virginia, and is destined to be included in the CELEBRATING SILVER Exhibition at the SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) 25th Anniversary Conference in Washington, D.C. in May 2014. The piece will then be included in the SAQA Traveling Trunk Show program which is designed to have small works of art created by members of the Association travel to communities and galleries world wide, hosted by member Guilds, Groups and designated host galleries. The work will travel over three years and some pieces will be available for sale at the end of the trunk show circulation.

A team of Jurors will select a number of pieces from those submitted to the Celebrating Silver Trunk Show Collection to be included in the permanent collection at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky.
