The Art Quilts represent 40 wonderful art quilt designers and stitch artists from across Canada who are part of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). This travelling exhibition, developed by SAQA, together with the Stratford Perth Museum, features the artists’ interpretation of their particular “corner of the world.”
The designs and techniques are wonderfully varied. Some pieces depict an actual place, while others are abstract and evoke a feeling of place in time. All of them are technically intricate, and each deserves careful study.
SAQA is dedicated to presenting and preserving thought-provoking cutting-edge artwork and has 3400 members around the world. It is known for developing outstanding, museum-quality exhibits. The catalogue that accompanies the exhibit features all 40 pieces, as well as 40 more by international artists that are on display at the Stratford Perth Museum. Make sure to come and enjoy these fascinating depictions of special Canadian spaces.
