Global Warming, Bethany Garner, Kingston, ON 2018
Inspired by a photo taken by Astronaut Mark Kelly, from the International Space Station as it passed over the Hudson’s Bay in 2016. Artist’s dyed/spun rovings, hand-stitched on her spun and woven wool background. Couching threads hand dyed by Dianne Gibson.
The 2018 Fibre Content Exibition was the Fourth Biennial Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Fibre Art. It showcased
90 works by 60 artists from across Ontario, in fabric, paper, yarn, thread and mixed media materials. The goal, as
always, was to raise the profile, awareness and acceptance of Fibre Art as a true art form.
The Premiere was, again, at the Art Gallery of Burlington, from September 6th to September 16th, 2018. A selection of
40 pieces forms a smaller version of the Exhibition which will travel to seven Northern Ontario locations into 2020!
You can see the full Gallery of all 90 pieces at the link here: Gallery Link

Thank you to each of the many volunteers, the jury and the Special Lecture speakers and Workshops Instructors that helped during the run at the Art Gallery of Burlington.
Do try to follow along as the traveling show makes it's way across Ontario and try to see the beautiful work.
CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who submitted work for consideration and to the 60 artists chosen to share their work .
